Coronavirus – support your immune system
Whilst the general advice as to how to avoid infection is vital and sensible, what’s missing is a proactive approach. You can and should support your immune system.
As The Guardian pointed out on 18th March:
“This is viral pneumonia; antibiotics are of no use. The antiviral drugs we have against flu will not work. Recovery depends on the strength of the immune system.”
Older and vulnerable people have higher death rates and risk
Boosting your immune system is particularly important for older people, whose immune system becomes weaker over time, associated with a reduction in the production of T-cells.
Especially vulnerable are those with diabetes, heart conditions, asthma and lung issues, as the coronavirus attacks the respiratory system. Also, of course, pregnant women should take all precautions. Data also indicates that men seem to be almost twice as vulnerable as women.
If your immune system is strong, you are more likely to resist infection, or to experience only mild symptoms and to recover quickly.
How to support your immune system naturally with ImmunoShield
ImmunoShield is one of very few natural, clinically proven ways to support your immune system. The main ingredient is a natural plant compound called 1-3, 1-6 beta glucans. This ‘primes’ key parts of the immune system to recognise a pathogen – like a virus – as “non-self”, attack it and literally engulf it for elimination by the body.
The 1-3, 1-6 beta glucans in ImmunoShield increase the number and activity levels of key immune cells called Natural Killer cells, neutrophils and macrophages. This heightened activity results in more effective immunity, not just against viruses, but respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, and bacterial infections.
In 2019, the Department of Immunology at the University of Louisville published a meta survey of 20,000 other studies on various immune modulators. They found that 1-3, 1-6 beta glucans had “the best position” among all other compounds tested, and that they “possess extremely low risk of negative side effects”.
Backed by over £100 million of research proving safety and effectiveness
1-3, 1-6 beta glucan is a natural compound found in the cell walls of shiitake mushrooms and baker’s yeast. The version in ImmunoShield is called WellmuneTM and over £100 million worth of research has confirmed it is both safe and effective.
In fact, the Canadian Department of Defense rated it number 1 out of 100 immune boosters for defence against a range of biological threats. And Wellmune is also being used at the Brown Cancer Center in Kentucky as ‘adjunct therapy’ – therapy given in addition to primary medical therapy to maximise its effectiveness.
Safety is an important issue, because the immune system can be over-stimulated. That can lead to what is called a cytokine storm – where the immune system turns on itself.
Whilst Echinacea, for example, has an undoubted immuno-modulatory effect, health researchers have expressed concern that continuous, or over-use of Echinacea could lead to this situation. That can’t happen with the 1-3, 1-6 Wellmune beta glucans.
